A few ways to de-stress after a long work week

My favourite day of the week is Friday. I love Fridays because it signals that the weekend is just around the corner and I might have more time to relax outside of work hours and spend quality time with my family and friends. The pace is slower (usually!) and our routines are less rushed and frantic.

At our house Friday night is often 'family movie night'. Its a great ritual that our family enjoys after a busy work and school week. Its a time of relaxation, popcorn and reconnecting with family members while being absorbed by a movie and its story-line.

One of the other methods of de-stressing after a long work week, is exercise. I love walking. I try and walk most days and the weekend for me usually includes longer walks with one or two family members and our dog. Its' a good time to explore the outdoors and see what is happening in the neighbourhood. As winter sets in, I find its a great way of getting some sunshine and earning an appetite for a delicious slow cooked meal. Eating and sharing a meal with family and friends is a good way of relaxing and engaging in the social connections that we often don't have time to do during a busy work week. Enjoy!
